In the mood for food in a relaxed setting? Then try the TonTon club at the Westergasterrein in Amsterdam. This is an arcade and restaurant where you can play a round of Mario Kart or Pacman before enjoying ramen and ramen burgers.
Go for the ramen with pork belly or an enormous milkshake
The original ramen burger was invented in 2013 by blogger and chef Keizo Shimamoto. You already know the Japanese soup , of course. Shimamoto realized that ramen also makes the perfect bun for a hamburger, because all the delicious ingredients from the burger stay tucked between the noodles, while the meat’s juices soak into them. Whoever came up with something so heavenly deserves a prize, but that’s beside the point. You can eat this at TonTon too: a ramen bun topped with a (veggie) burger.
Pork belly and milkshakes</h3
For less than fifteen euros, you get a ramen burger with a (small) bowl of kimchi, a corn on the cob, and crispy sweet potato fries. True meat lovers can opt for a slightly more luxurious version with wagyu. Not in the mood for burgers? Then go for the ramen with pork belly or an enormous milkshake, with or without alcohol. According to FavorFlav, it’s the perfect drink to loosen up a little before an evening at the arcade machines.
And even if you’re not really into all those games, the TonTon club is still well worth a visit. Because that ramen burger—oh, that ramen burger.
