Oyster lovers, take note: this oyster walk takes you to various Michelin restaurants

Since 2021, Shannice Wilner and Leonne Stentler, founders of Koester je Oester, have been organising iconic Oyster Walks across the country. The Oyster Walk through Rotterdam, for example, has been a success for years. Soon, a special anniversary edition is coming up that you won’t want to miss as a dedicated oyster slurper: the Golden Oyster Walk through Amsterdam. A briny journey past Amsterdam’s culinary Michelin restaurants.

Then you know that, as an oyster lover, you’ll really get your fill.

The Golden Oyster Walk: slurping oysters at star-studded restaurants

During the Golden Oyster Walk on 31 May, you’ll visit all kinds of high-end Michelin or Bib Gourmand restaurants in the city. The participating names are impressive: Showw, Bolenius, Wils, Ron Gastrobar and Auberge are on the route. Phew, this promises to be something! We’ve been fans of restaurant Wils on Stadionplein for years, for example. Here, they cook over an open fire at a high level; we’re therefore very curious to see what kind of oyster dish we’ll get here. Ron Gastrobar is also an all-time favorite of the editorial team here. In 2023, owner Ron Blaauw even scored a sky-high position (number 2) in the FavorFlav’s Food Top 100.

During the Golden Oyster Walk, you’ll visit five star restaurants. In total, you’ll enjoy eight oysters and two drinks. To whet your appetite: the oysters are prepared with ingredients such as beurre blanc, beef fat, chive oil and oyster foam. An Eastern-style oyster is also on the menu. We don’t know how quickly we should get our hands on a ticket.

How the Oyster Walk works

So we can expect some beautiful restaurants with incredibly delicious oyster dishes. What else can you practically expect from the Golden Oyster Walk? You’ll receive your purchased tickets in your inbox a few days before the walk starts. The email contains all the information you need, plus the route described in a PDF file. Handy: the route is pre-programmed in Google Maps. You’ll always arrive at your next oyster.

You and your oyster clan report to the first restaurant during the time slot you booked (starting between 11:00 and 12:00 or between 12:00 and 13:00). There, you’ll receive a stamp card listing all five star restaurants. After your slurping session at the restaurant, you’ll receive a stamp and set off for the next stop on the route.
