How to make red cabbage with sausages
- Remove the outer leaves from the red cabbage. Cut the cabbage into fine strips.
- Peel the apples and cut them into pieces.
- Melt half of the butter in a large stew pot. Add the red cabbage and apple pieces, then add the vinegar, sugar and a little water. Simmer covered until the cabbage is tender. Season with pepper and salt to taste and add extra sugar if desired.
- Peel, rinse and cut the potatoes into pieces. Boil them in salted water for 20 minutes until tender.
- Meanwhile, fry the sausages in the remaining butter. Do not set the heat too high, otherwise they will burst. Drain the potatoes and shake them briefly.
- Serve the sausages with the boiled potatoes and red cabbage.
