Red Cross starts food aid during coronavirus

The Red Cross is raising money via giro 7244 for food aid in the Netherlands, for people who are struggling because of coronavirus measures. The aid organization has been providing food parcels and grocery vouchers since May, but because the measures are lasting longer and more people are getting into difficulty, the Red Cross needs money to provide more assistance.

The coronavirus measures are particularly hard on people without papers, but migrant workers and homeless people are also running into problems. They cannot always claim the available support, such as food banks. The Red Cross is also providing food parcels and grocery vouchers for families who are stuck after losing their income because of coronavirus. They are counting on providing at least one meal a day for three thousand families.
Get groceries yourself
The Red Cross distributes food parcels, as well as grocery vouchers that people can use to buy what they need themselves. Since May, they have already distributed 25,000 parcels and 25,000 vouchers. The organization intends to continue providing food aid at least until the end of this year. Can you spare anything?
