Great initiative: Live Eet. Dining together for the Food Bank

Wijn

Slowly but surely, supermarket shelves are filling up again and the biggest hoarding wave is over. Yet the Food Bank is still running short of food and drinks because of all the hoarding. Honig came up with a solution and is therefore organising the Live-Eet charity dinner on 26 March at 18:00.

Gathering around the table for the Food Bank

It’s not just restaurants, which massively donated their supplies, that can contribute. You can also help from the comfort of your sofa (we’re of course staying #home). The largest online charity dinner is entirely dedicated to the charitable organisation. “Now that we are all staying at home as much as possible, we felt that, together with the Food Bank, this was an appropriate way to show solidarity with people for whom an evening meal is not something to take for granted,” says Bob Rog, director of Honig. Another special initiative in times of the coronavirus crisis. Will you take care of the food? Then various Dutch celebrities, also from their own living rooms, will provide the music.

How to participate

The whole of the Netherlands can support the Food Bank during Live-Eet. How? By making a voluntary donation via a Tikkie or scanning the QR code on Live-Eet.nl. Honig itself is donating 360,000 meals, and the proceeds from the charity dinner will provide even more meals for 90,000 people. And they are more necessary than ever at this time. So pull up a chair, because every little bit helps.

A (star) dinner delivered to your home

Cooking for yourself is of course an option, but ordering from your favourite (starred) restaurant makes your charity dinner extra special. This way, you’ll save not only the Food Bank but also the hospitality industry. And to really complete the experience, you can also order a delivery sommelier. Three birds with one stone!
