Blood runs where it cannot go, and chefs cannot be stopped, corona or no corona. They keep coming up with amazing initiatives to provide guests with their finest and most delicious dishes. Since that is not possible in their own restaurants for the time being, six Michelin-starred chefs have joined forces for the second time for ‘The Netherlands’ biggest drive-thru event.’

From Tasty Walks to all kinds of drive-thrus, anyone who wants to eat well during corona does not have to go without. Following an incredibly successful first edition of the Culinary Route, the 2nd edition of the Netherlands’ biggest drive-thru Michelin-starred restaurant will be organised on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 April.

Six stops, eight stars

That means driving along the beautiful Westfriese Omringdijk and picking up something delicious at six restaurants, prepared by the following (Michelin-starred) chefs:

  • At the drive-thru farm in Schellinkhout: Arjan Speelman and Onno Kokmeijer of restaurant Ciel Bleu**
  • At restaurant Het Kerkje in Andijk: Stefan van Sprang of Aan de Poel**
  • At Restaurant Meijer’s in Medemblik: Michel Meijer
  • At Slot Hotel in Schagen: Sander Spruijt of De Burgemeester* on Saturday and Wilco Berends of De Nederlanden* on Sunday
  • At restaurant Merlet in Schoorl: Jonathan Zandbergen*
  • At Piet-Jan van Den Kommer in Stompetoren: Ron Blaauw*

Are you joining the drive?

The Netherlands’ biggest drive-thru will take place on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 April, and the price (including drinks) is €175 per person. During the Culinary Route, a mix of culinary cocktails and alcohol-free wines will be served, and afterwards you will receive a bottle of wine to enjoy at home after a spectacular culinary afternoon. Reservations can be made via Merlet (please indicate your preferred starting time and location, as well as any dietary requirements or allergies).

And now let’s just hope you are allowed to pee somewhere along the way
