The best late-night snacks in Amsterdam by district

Had a few too many drinks on your way home? Ask the taxi to stop, get off your bike and stagger to these Amsterdam eateries for the best (life-saving!) late-night snacks.

Noord
Meneer Kebab on Mosplein is a must for anyone in Noord when you’re drunk on your way home or (if you dare!) to your next destination. You can eat the tastiest kebab here until 03:00. And believe me: this really is the very best kebab, and an absolute must-try when sober too. Meneer Kebab makes delicious marinades for its kebab, which consists of lamb and veal. Also recommended: the kapsalon. With potato slices instead of fries and fresh vegetables. You could almost get drunk on it…
Oost
You’ll find Automatiek Hallo on Linnaeusstraat. Kind of like FEBO, but different. The fries are excellent and the portions are generous. The lovely man behind the counter will also recommend the cheeseburger, and indeed, it’s very tasty. The prices are reasonable and the quality consistent. A good stop when you find yourself in Amsterdam-Oost at night!
Zuid-Oost
Let’s be honest. Being able to eat McDonald’s in the middle of the night is sometimes all you want, right? Even the cola is something you can crave. People living in Zuid-Oost are lucky: the McDonald’s on Muntbergweg is open 24/7. Yes, really, whether it’s 01:00, 03:00 or 05:00; tuck into Big Mac Meals.
Zuid
At Coja Snacks, you know exactly what to expect: typical snack-bar food, friendly staff and daily opening hours until 01:00. Coja Snacks has everything. Fried snacks, Turkish pizzas, döner kebab, milkshakes, chicken, crisps, chocolate, ice cream—everything a snack bar should have. And it’s all delicious! What’s more, some of their great deals, such as “With an order of €35, a bottle of cola worth €3 is free”, are exactly what you need when you’re staggering home with your friends.
West
Corner Inn is not to be missed when you’re speeding down Kinkerstraat at night on your way to bed or the club. A great snack bar with a large selection of snacks, plenty of seating and you’ll often run into people you know, because it’s an Amsterdam institution. And don’t be alarmed if you hear birdsong; you’re not drugged, it’s not morning yet. It’s the Corner Inn’s playlist. Well, we don’t know why either. But the burgers are tasty, as are the Turkish pizzas and frikandellen. So we don’t ask questions.
Nieuw-West
Late-night pizza? Coming right up. In Nieuw-West, head to Luna Rossa. On Fridays and Saturdays, you can get pizza here until 02:00. It’s often a little greasy, but after ten beers that doesn’t matter one bit. Extra bonus: Luna Rossa’s shop, where you can pick up a bag of crisps, Ben & Jerry’s and a bottle of wine to enjoy at home.
Centrum
In the Centrum district, you’re spoiled for choice. Messut, FEBO, Maccie, Eetsalon van Dobben, Ma Baker, De Mol, De Dijk. Sometimes the options in the centre are a little less cosy (Ma Baker is always packed with drunk people, which isn’t always much fun, and the staff clearly don’t always feel like being there either). Still great: Eetsalon van Dobben and Cafetaria De Dijk on Haarlemmerdijk—which is still lively at 05:00. Really have no idea what to choose? Then pull a grilled burger from the wall at the FEBO on Oudezijds Voorburgwal. Always a winner.
