These are our favorite food quotes

When we’re bored, there are really only two solutions: eating or talking. And you can’t blame us for the fact that the talking is always about food. After reading these food quotes, you’ll want nothing more than to sprint to your favorite restaurant or flop down on the couch with a glass of wine. You’re welcome.

“The odds of going to the store for a loaf of bread and coming out with only a loaf of bread are three billion to one.” ― Erma Bombeck
You know the feeling: you go to the supermarket hungry and suddenly come home with three jars of za’atar, tortilla chips, crab salad, a bottle of wine, aioli and a jar of pickles. Only to get home and hear: “Weren’t you just going to buy bread?”
“Your body is not a temple, it’s an amusement park. Enjoy the ride.” – Anthony Bourdain
Take it from the bad boy of food. Don’t just eat what’s good for you; also enjoy what tastes good to you.
“Life is uncertain, eat dessert first.” – Ernestine Ulmer
This foodie version of YOLO is right up our alley. You get the menu and the first thing you look for is dessert. Sound familiar? We get it. We also believe that dessert goes straight to your heart, not your stomach—and we live by this quote.
“Age and glasses of wine should never be counted.” – Unknown
Can we get this quote somewhere in black and white? And by that we naturally mean in the law books.
“The only time to eat diet food is while you’re waiting for the steak to cook.” -Julia Child
Before all the food bloggers and 24kitchen stars, there was Julia Child. And anyone who searches for food quotes every Monday evening (or are we the only ones?) has surely come across this quote from the American chef and TV personality at least once. And our other favorite Child quote: “A party without cake is just a meeting.” True that, sister.
“WTF” (Where’s the food?) – Unknown
Short but powerful. We like it.
“People who love to eat are always the best people.” – Julia Child
So surround yourself with people you can talk about food with all day, visit the latest hotspots with, and order more dishes with than there are people at the table. Or not. That way, there’s more left for you.
“One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well.” -Virginia Woolf
Is this the reason why we’re always hangry?
“I just don’t want to look back and think ‘I could’ve eaten that.” – Unknown
It’s not known who first said this quote. But admit it: your name could probably have been underneath it. Because what’s more heartbreaking than leaving an all-you-can-eat restaurant because you’re full? And then regretting it at home when you’re hungry again a few hours later? If only you had ordered that one extra round of sushi.
