These burgers want to see back on McDonald’s menu today
It’s all well and good that McDonald’s keeps releasing new burgers, like the Chicken & Waffle we tested recently. But what would be truly great—and especially kind of them—is if the following burgers came back on the menu. And permanently, please. McDonald’s, are you reading this?
As it happens, the suggestions came in under the test video of the Chicken & Waffle by Snackspert. Well… That says enough, we think. These 5 burgers should return to the Mac immediately.
1. Chicken Sensation
The biggest cry for help and plea for its return in one is for the Chicken Sensation to come back. Understandably so, because man, this was one tasty burger. The bun had a different shape than usual: oblong and oval instead of round. The breaded chicken and sauce made this burger a star we’d still love to see shining on McDonald’s menu. But alas, Maccie decided otherwise in 2016.

By the way, calls to bring back the Chicken Sensation have been going around for a while. We didn’t want to keep this 2016 complaint on KLACHT.nl from you. Yes, we feel the same way, although we can hardly say that we’ve sworn off McDonald’s:
”Why is the chicken sensation gone? This was literally the only thing I liked at your place. And I think I’m not the only one; enough people around me have had no desire for the Mac since the sensation disappeared. I haven’t visited Mac donnals at all since the Sansation disappeared. Even though I used to come and enjoy that delicious bun 3 or 4 times a week! Such a shame that you made this decision 🙁 unfortunately, you’ve lost a customer because of it.”
2. McRib
Snackspert has also been asking for this for years: the McRib needs to return to McDonald’s in the Netherlands! According to him, the bun with tender pork and a shitload of barbecue sauce is a true ‘cult classic’. And honestly, it really is a rather special bun. Snackspert even started a petition to get the burger back on the menu. It was signed thousands of times—but it wasn’t enough. We still don’t see the McRib on Dutch Mac menus, although there is renewed hope: the comeback is underway in the United Kingdom. Now it’s our turn!

3. McChicken Saté
Another much-requested comeback: the return of the McChicken Saté. This bun was also on a completely different level from what you’re used to from McDonald’s. The satay sauce and fried onions were truly sensational in this burger. You’re certainly eager to see it return:

4. 1955 Burger
Do you remember this one?! Yes indeed, if we can believe the comments on Snackspert’s video. In case it doesn’t ring a bell: this burger was inspired by the classic, very first McDonald’s burger served in 1955 at the first location in Illinois (USA). The burger included, among other things, crispy bacon, fried onions and barbecue sauce. It was on the menu in the Netherlands years and years ago, but by now you haven’t been able to get it here for years either. If only McDonald’s would listen to the fans:

5. Greek Mac
Not that long ago, in 2023, Greek items (once again) appeared on McDonald’s menu. Among other things, you could order the Homestyle Crispy Chicken Greek and McWrap Greek. But what we really want is the Greek Mac. It was a beef burger with yogurt sauce, lettuce, tomato and red onion on a herby pita bun. Maccie, we’re politely but firmly asking you to put this Greek god back on the menu!
