McChicken Sensation recipe
This recipe makes 2 Chicken Sensations.
- Preheat the oven to 220 degrees and the deep fryer to 175 degrees.
- Sprinkle some water over the tops of the rolls. Dip the wet tops into a mixture of white and black sesame seeds. Bake the rolls for 10 minutes at 220 degrees. Leave them to cool afterwards.
- Using a silicone spatula, mix the Dijon mustard, wholegrain mustard, mayonnaise, paprika, pepper, salt, honey, garlic powder and lemon juice into honey mustard sauce.
- Place the chicken fillets on a cutting board. Cover them with plastic wrap. Use the bottom of the pan to flatten the chicken fillets. It feels a little rebellious, but it’s important for even cooking.
- Cut the rolls open. Spray the insides of the rolls with olive oil. Then grill the insides of the rolls in a dry frying pan until golden brown. Meanwhile, cut the tomato into slices with a sharp chef’s knife, wash the iceberg lettuce and cut the red onion into half rings. Keep an eye on your rolls in the meantime.
- Place three large, flat plates from left to right. On the left plate, mix the pepper, salt, onion powder and garlic powder into the flour. Put beaten egg on the middle plate and panko breadcrumbs on the right plate. Bread the chicken fillets one after another by coating them (from left to right) in the flour, egg and panko. Make sure all sides of the chicken fillets are coated at every step. Leave the fryer basket in the oil. Carefully lower the chicken fillets into the deep fryer; this prevents the coating from breaking when it comes into contact with the basket.
- Place the fried chicken fillets on the bottom halves of the rolls. Complete the Chicken Sensation with tomato, iceberg lettuce leaves, red onion, homemade honey mustard sauce and the top halves of the rolls.
