This little chef is taking Instagram by storm – and he can’t even talk yet

Kobe-Favorflav

Child influencers and child vloggers with absurd numbers of followers, who are already churning out stories at primary school and making professional unboxing videos of their LOL Surprise ball – I have thoughts about that. But then I saw Kobe’s cooking videos on Instagram, aged 1, and I was sold.

Kobe’s cooking videos make me want to cook more than the polished videos by Nigella or Jamie’s throw-and-toss clips. It doesn’t all have to be so neat, as Kobe clearly shows. If you take a bite of a banana and then throw it into the mixing bowl, that’s absolutely nothing to be ashamed of. That sweet little boy can’t even talk yet (well, every now and then he says: jum jum, and that is Very Adorable), but the love of cooking and baking shines from his little eyes.

Don’t worry, Mum is on standby

Kobe has more than 790,000 followers on Instagram and he cooks serious dishes: oven-baked salmon with lemon, or pasta with a splash of vodka in the sauce. Don’t worry: his mother is always just out of shot, ready to step in if he looks like he’s about to drink the whipped cream or sprinkles too much pepper over a dish – nothing can go wrong. Because Kobe is very good at stirring, adding sugar to the bowl and even cracking eggs. Well, and sometimes something misses the bowl. But who has that never happened to? And to all the parents desperately wondering how to get their teenagers moving so they’ll do even the tiniest thing in the kitchen: apparently, you have to start very young.
