This way of preparing your bapao is much better than the original

By now, thanks to Snackspert, you know which bapao to buy at the supermarket. So step 1 is already done. Step 2? Preparing the bapao. As a passionate bapao eater, you probably know how to do that: in the microwave. (Or steaming, but I think 99% of supermarket bapao eaters choose the microwave.) Forget both methods! We’ve found the very best way to warm up your bapao.

It also happens to be FavorFlav’s Sharon’s favorite way to prepare Brabant sausage rolls. Turns out she was, quite surprisingly, way ahead of her time.
Bapao in your sandwich press
So what’s the best way to prepare your bapao? Put it in your sandwich press. It gets wonderfully crunchy that way. If you put your bapao in the microwave or a steamer basket, the outside stays soft. Delicious, sure, but we promise you: a crispy bapao is genuinely many times better. It’s like eating an extra-delicious filled toastie. A few minutes in the sandwich press (or, even better, a contact grill) is enough to make it crispy and golden brown.
Crunchy vs. soggy
Maybe you’re 100% team soft, soggy bapao. Honestly, we still think that’s the ultimate comfort food too. But why not switch things up with a crunchy version? Trust us, this is at least as delicious as the original bapao.
Extra tip: first place a sheet of baking paper in your sandwich press, then put the bapao on top. That way, your sandwich press stays clean. And… We still think bapao is best with a delicious chili sauce. Even though it contains a shitload of sugar.
