Top hack with an onion (and a BBQ)

Would you love to fire up the BBQ every day during these sunny weeks? But do you still feel some reluctance because you can think of a hundred more enjoyable things than having to scrape all that baked-on gunk off the grill afterwards with an annoying wire brush? We get it. Then give this trick a try!

This hack is pretty incredible, and the advantage is that you can skip those (often smelly, toxic) degreasing scrubbing products. Purely natural, and when you’re done you can simply throw this cleaning helper into the hot coals.
With an onion, your meat will never stick to your barbecue again
The trick? Half an onion! You can do this nicely before you start grilling. Make sure the grate or grill is good and hot, halve an onion (there’s no need to peel it) and stick a long grilling or heat-resistant meat fork into it. Now rub the cut side firmly over the surface, and if you really want to do it properly, spray some white vinegar over it too. This extra acidity also helps remove the baked-on residue from your previous session. Done? Then simply toss the onion into the hot coals for a delicious aroma. Handy!

Now you’re completely ready to make, for example, amazing BBQ Burgers by Jord Althuizen, or the most delicious vegetables you can imagine, and you know what? Go ahead and put some pineapple on it afterwards for this perfect whiskey/Fireball/pineapple dessert!
