Wow: KitKat launches a Chocolatory Boutique with 30,000 flavors!
A restaurant serving only chocolate dishes, a chocolate tasting and a machine where you can create your own bar: it’s all possible at KitKat’s Chocolatory Boutique. This enormous chocolate shop opens next Monday. The only downside: the dream store is in Sydney.
At the Chocolatory, KitKats are available in the wildest flavors, such as KitKat with cotton candy, churro or sake flavor. Visitors can also create their own KitKat, with ingredients and flavorings such as yuzu cream, peanut butter and raspberry. That may not sound like the ideal combination yet, but fortunately you can combine and taste as much as you like in the boutique.
Chocolate menu for ten
The boutique has a restaurant with only KitKat creations on the menu. No, not ten bars in a row, but culinary creations by a top chef, all made with chocolate. Desserts only, of course. Groups of ten can make a reservation and will then be served a complete chocolate menu over the course of an hour and a half.
Pink chocolate
In the Netherlands, KitKats in all colors and flavors are not yet well known; we mainly have to make do with the familiar red packaging. Fortunately, KitKat Gold was announced this year, with caramel in glitter packaging, and in previous years we got raspberry KitKat and matcha KitKat. But abroad, they experiment exuberantly. Japan in particular is very good at it, with KitKat in green tea or melon flavors.
Other locations
The boutique in Sydney is the first in a series of large chocolate shops that KitKat plans to open. Locations in Japan, Malaysia, Brazil, Great Britain and Canada are next on the agenda. The Netherlands has not been mentioned yet, so we’ll have to be patient for a little longer. In November, KitKat briefly had a pop-up shop in Utrecht, but there are no other plans in our direction yet. Fortunately, we have the Tony Chocolonely Superstore nearby—and they definitely don’t have that in Australia.
