You can now buy AIX Rosé macarons and they are insanely delicious

Patisserie Linnick has done it again. After the insanely delicious Ice Cream Sandwich – the Ice Cream Macaronick – they have created something else that makes us spontaneously break into a conga line: AIX Rosé macarons. The macaron’s delicate shell is nothing short of sublime in texture and mouthfeel, while the AIX rosé filling is creamy and fresh.

Patisserie Linnick in Amsterdam is known for its amazing pastries and chocolates. Even if you don’t have a sweet tooth, you’ll succumb here – I speak from experience. Besides beautiful cakes and pastries, they also make wonderful macarons. Their latest creation: AIX Rosé macarons.
From Ladurée to Linnick
Every macaron lover knows the name Ladurée. The famous French pastry chef was also the one who turned the macaron into the universally beloved cookie that enthusiasts pay a fortune for (they even make vegan macarons at Ladurée now). But the macaron’s history, like that of many sweet treats, has Arab origins. Writings from the 15th century describe a pastry called ‘louzieh’, meaning almond – which was already the cookie’s main ingredient at the time. And around 1500, the cookie appeared in Italy under the name ‘maccharone’.
When the Italian Catherine de Medici married King Henry II of France in 1533, the macaron began its triumphant journey through La Douce France. The macaron as we all devour it today originated in Paris in 1830, when two pastry chefs decided to sell the cookies with ganache between them. The recipe was subsequently perfected at Ladurée’s bakery.
You don’t have to go to Paris for irresistible macarons, because Patisserie Linnick’s macarons are every bit as irresistible. They come in various colors and flavors – from pear, yuzu and chocolate fillings to mango and kalamansi fillings – and are sold in boxes of 5, 8, 12, 18 or 25. With AIX Rosé macarons as my latest addiction.
Rosé and macaron = 1 + 1 = 3
Drinks and macarons are a very good idea. (A less good idea was the time I tried to make pink champagne macarons – but that’s beside the point.) Add to that the fact that the cheerful rosé brand AIX is always up for fun promotions, and the combination is an obvious one. The macarons are made with the new AIX Rosé 2023. AIX Rosé 2023 has already won awards twice, earning gold medals at the international Mundus Vini competition in Germany and Gilbert & Gaillard in France.
AIXcellent taste
A fun idea, looks beautiful, but of course you also want to know what they taste like. Well: they are truly insanely delicious. The macaron’s delicate shell is nothing short of sublime in texture and mouthfeel, while the AIX rosé filling is creamy and fresh. I especially consider that last part a plus. So this isn’t an overly sweet cookie, but a refined and fresh macaron that – this part is true – you just can’t stop eating…
