You can now buy Frikandel spread salad at Lidl (and this is what it tastes like)

From today, Lidl is once again stocking a hilarious ‘salad’: Frikandel spread salad. A fresh salad filled with brown fruit. You can skip it for the vitamins, but true snack lovers and culinary adventurers will of course prick up their ears immediately: frikandel spread! What does it taste like? We tried it in advance.

Almost every week, Lidl puts special culinary products on the shelves. As part of Dutch Week, we tried the Kapsalon spread salad just last week. And this week, the supermarket is going all out for the European Championship with all kinds of ‘Orange snacks’.
Football sausage rolls
What are you supposed to imagine by that? A Frikandel Speciaal Pizza (shocking: it’s much tastier than you might expect), a box with 18 thick goalposts to throw into the fat, Orange bitterballen, fresh white rolls in the shape of footballs (you have to think of it), football sausage rolls, football snack mix—and when it all comes out again, Orange toilet paper is also available. (A pun about the circle being complete is just waiting to be made here—who’s going to head it in?)
What does it taste like?
But anyway: the Frikandel spread salad. We can keep it brief: this is tasty. Maybe we’ve had too little Michelin-starred food lately and our taste buds are severely confused, but we can’t make anything else of it than that this is genuinely quite good. Tasty pieces of frikandel surrounded by a rich, creamy sauce. With a fresh onion flavor, pleasantly seasoned… Put it on a tiger roll and you’re done. Great lunch.
Want to try it yourself? Good idea—you won’t be disappointed. A tub costs 1.29. A bargain for so much pleasure.
