You can now taste donuts as a volunteer!
Oh guys, there really is a downpour of awesome side jobs in the food world! After KFC chicken taster, wine tester and the vacancy for Cheese Executive Officer, there’s now a company looking for a donut-munching volunteer!
Sorry, a connoisseur who tests 4 different donuts every week for a month and rates them on quality, flavor, and toppings. The lucky person will do this to support Project D, a fairly new British donut company, with its quality testing. Project D has locations in the Midlands of England. Originally a festival and food event hit, they had to find new ways to get their donuts to customers after the English lockdown. They’ve since managed to set up a successful delivery system, and when you visit the website you’ll see that you have to order well in advance because those boxes fly out the door!
Feel-good
They describe their donuts as light and airy, without artificial ingredients, and all hand-decorated. And yes, this sounds too good to be true, but they really are looking for creative people who can provide honest feedback. This lucky bastard must also have such a refined palate that they can detect even the smallest changes in the recipe, enjoy trying new products, and above all simply be completely crazy about donuts.
The catch
The only thing is: you have to live within Project D’s delivery area to receive one of those boxes every week. In other words, the West Midlands in the United Kingdom. But who knows, maybe you’re one of our loyal readers abroad who happens to live there! Someone recently told us they could easily apply to be a cheese snack taster at Whisps, because they’ve lived in America for years. So in that case we say: go for it and apply via Project D’s website! We’re keeping our fingers crossed for you! Otherwise, you’ll just have to get back to making them at home yourself, with, for example, Gordon Ramsay’s chocolate donuts. At least those are English too…
