Boeuf Bourguignon

Or another stew. Because it has to simmer for a long time, it’s always nice to make a big pot. Divide it into portions in freezer bags, so you can simply defrost one bag per person. All you need to do is make a side dish, such as mashed potatoes.

Samosas

For example, vegetarian or with meat. They also make a great snack or lunch. It’s best to fry them for a little less time before freezing them. Then you can finish frying them when you actually want to eat them.

Cookie dough

Okay, not dinner, but very handy when you’re craving cookies on a dreary Sunday afternoon but don’t feel like going to the supermarket. Freeze the dough in rolls, so all you have to do is slice and bake it.

Bolognese

How great is it to open the freezer and discover that you still have a generous container of ragù left? Freeze this in single-serving bags too, and when the moment arrives, all you have to do is cook pasta. And grate lots of cheese, of course.

Curry

Most curries freeze very well. For example, make this vegetarian curry with Indian cheese and double the recipe. Cook the rice separately, or eat it with naan.

Soup

Make different portions of soup: small containers for lunch and large ones for the evening. This Thai pumpkin soup is ideal. Just be careful, because not all soups freeze well. Noodle soup, for example, isn’t such a success.
