10 times employees cracked up over stupid guests and customers

lachende horeca medewerker

First things first: most customers are of course perfectly nice, polite and thoughtful. Pleasant people, like you! But every now and then, hospitality and retail employees are genuinely left speechless when they have to deal with the cluelessness of some guests and customers…

Because can you imagine having to flap your elbows up and down while making cluck-cluck sounds because a customer genuinely can’t imagine what chicken wings are? It happens, people. A whole parade of idiots passes through shops and restaurants, and employees spill the beans to share their frustration (and so we can laugh our heads off):

Would you rather have regular gravy?

If you won’t listen, you’ll have to learn the hard way? If you insist on having a Virgin Screwdriver (vodka and orange juice), and see well-intentioned advice (wouldn’t you just like some gravy?) as an insult, then that’s up to you…

All the baskets, why not

What an interesting and handy system! And so decorative, too! Lovely, a whole stack of baskets with wheels on a trolley with wheels—I’ll take that with me.

Sour milk for her

This has to be a joke, right? Can the words Best Before possibly be interpreted differently? Apparently so, and this person is going to drink a lot of sour milk in their lifetime…

A chicken flies

Of course, it’s also possible that the customer was very deadpan and pulled off a good joke here. But we also believe it if this employee really did imitate a chicken because someone just couldn’t understand that a chicken is a type of bird:

How many Nuggets?

Speaking of chicken, if you go to McDonald’s and get McNuggets 9, how many pieces do you think you’ll get? Be honest.

Cheddar, that’s a cheese, yes

Every single time guests asked what kind of cheese was on the Beef and Cheddar, this dutiful employee wanted to SINK THROUGH THE FLOOR…

Credit card issues

If you’re a bit paranoid and think there are evil forces behind the chip in your bank card, that’s of course rather sad. But then you’ll also have to resign yourself to always paying cash, right?

Unbreakable glass

Don’t try this at home, but you know what: just don’t try it in the shop either!

BLT-ish

Possibly the funniest one, and also the most amusingly written: how something can be read so completely wrong that the boss has to be called in. And we’ve immediately found the best swear word of the year!

Terrible service: Lego comes in pieces

And as the grand finale, the dissatisfied customer who flipped out because his Lego came in pieces… What do you mean, assemble it yourself? Do you know how many pieces that is? I just want that ship in my hands, ready-made, now! AAARGH!
