14 times supermarket inflation takes painful forms

Everything is getting more expensive, and you notice it at the supermarket too. Not only because you have to pay more for the same groceries, but also when you take a critical look at the shelves. Because some products haven’t become more expensive, but… smaller.

It’s called shrinkflation. The price of a product stays the same, but its contents have subtly shrunk. Well, subtly? These shoppers weren’t fooled—they noticed it immediately: the crisps are smaller, there’s one less piece of chewing gum in the strip, and the chocolate bar is lighter. Don’t be fooled!
