Airfryer frikandel quiche: the perfect snack for every frikandel lover

We love frikandel, we love the Airfryer – and what do you get when you combine these two in a festive way? Exactly: Airfryer frikandel quiche! What could possibly be better than the Netherlands’ favorite minced-meat snack in a crispy quiche crust? Frikandel lovers, gather round, because this recipe is a game changer!

Of course, a quiche is always a good idea. Take the Quiche Flamande by top chef Joris Bijdendijk or this healthy Italian tortilla quiche. Absolutely delicious, but they do end up a little in the shadow of our ultimate guilty pleasure: frikandel quiche. This snack of all snacks, prepared until crispy in the Airfryer, is the answer to all your snack dreams.
Why we love frikandel so much
Let’s be honest: frikandel is the king of Dutch snacks. There’s something irresistible about that perfectly fried exterior, the tender minced meat inside, and that special “frikandel flavor” that you can never get enough of. Whether you’re standing by the deep fryer with friends or picking up a frikandel at the snack bar after a night out, this minced-meat snack is always a party.
Comfort food at its best
It may not be the most refined dish, but that’s exactly what makes it so great! Frikandel is comfort food at its best: easy, quick, and above all: absolutely delicious. Frikandel has conquered its place in our culinary hearts – no wonder we consider it the perfect snack, in whatever form.
From the classic frikandel to this surprising frikandel quiche, we’re always looking for ways to upgrade our favorite snack. This quiche is the perfect example: classic comfort food in a modern, creative package.
Recipe: Airfryer frikandel quiche
This weekend, we have plenty of time for some creativity in the kitchen (and no, not just with pickles). Also with the snack of all snacks: frikandel. This version is truly special, namely in the form of a quiche and prepared in the Airfryer, too! It looks amazing, doesn’t it?
Preparation:
The video below shows how childishly easy this is to make. You can also follow the steps below, in which we briefly fry the frikandel first for a crispy result.
Preheat: Turn your Airfryer on to 180°C.
Prepare the frikandel: Cut the frikandellen into small pieces and briefly fry them in a pan so they become slightly crispy.
The quiche filling: Place the puff pastry in a quiche dish that fits in your Airfryer. Divide the frikandel pieces over the base and spread with curry ketchup. Then cover with small strips of puff pastry.
Bake: Place the dish in the Airfryer and bake the quiche at 180°C for approximately 12 minutes, until golden brown and cooked through.
Serve: Allow to cool briefly, cut into slices and serve. Enjoy!
