Aldi wine bottle may break, supermarket asks customers to return bottles
When opening a bottle of Pinot Noir Etienne Vincent from Aldi, the bottle may break, causing pieces of glass to get into the wine. Risky business, so Aldi is asking everyone to return their bottle.
To be clear, this concerns bottles of Pinot Noir Etienne Vincent from producer Les Vignobles Foncalieu. There is no glass in the wine, but the bottle may break when opened, causing small pieces of glass to end up in the wine. Bad news, because drinking wine containing glass can lead to internal injuries, not to mention the cuts you could get when cleaning up the broken bottle.
No receipt needed
The wine has been sold in stores since 15 August. If you have a bottle (or more) on your wine rack, don’t drink it but return it to the store. Even if you have already emptied half the bottle, you can still return it. You don’t need a receipt; you’ll simply get your money back.
