Bounty-haters win: Celebrations without Bounty for sale
You either love them or hate them, there’s no middle ground: Bounties. Do you happily sink your teeth into the coconut delight? Or do you shudder at those little fibres between your teeth? In Great Britain, the haters have won: especially for the holidays, a Celebrations gift box without Bounty is being launched there.
A few years ago, website LadBible took a scientific approach: readers could indicate which Celebration was their least favourite. Bounty came out as the clear winner—or loser, depending on how you look at it. Mini Snickers didn’t exactly win readers’ hearts either, but Bounty was voted out of Celebrations by most participants in the survey. The favourites? Maltesers and Milky Way.
Returning them
Apparently, people in Great Britain especially can’t stand Bounties. Last year, people returned the Bounties from their Celebrations boxes to the shop. Manufacturer Mars Wrigley conducted a survey, which showed that 40 per cent of Britons would rather not find that coconut bar in their box of chocolates.
Festive packaging
And because at Christmas we only want to give the very best gift, the manufacturer has decided to keep Bounty out of Celebrations festive packs in November and December. Instead, they’ll contain extra Mars and Snickers.
So where will those Bounties go?
Will there also be special gift packs with extra Bounty? Then perhaps the Milky Ways can make room. Asking for a friend.
