Cocktail Bar Super Lyan Wins Best Hotel Bar in Amsterdam
Last weekend, the Belvedere Best Hotel Bar Awards were presented during the annual Hotel Night. Cocktail bar Super Lyan was the big winner, but Bar Cleas, Bar Twenty Seven and Skylounge also took home an award.
Number one
Super Lyan managed to grow into one of Amsterdam’s biggest hotspots in a short time. Less than a year ago, bartender and owner Ryan Chetiyawardana opened the doors of his new cocktail bar in the Kimpton De Witt Hotel. Super Lyan was the successor to London cocktail bar Dandelyan (now Lyaness), which was named the world’s best in 2018. The 1950s interior combined with perfect service, the tastiest cocktails and ultimate bar bites makes this the best bar in Amsterdam.
Public favorite
For the fourth year in a row, SkyLounge Amsterdam received the award for Public’s Favorite. Almost one-third of the votes went to the rooftop bar of Hilton Double Tree next to Amsterdam Central Station. The view really is fantastic!
The other awards
The best newcomer was Bar Claes, while Best Classic Bar went to Bar TwentySeven. The award for Best Creative Bar was presented to Bar The Tailor. Juniper & Kin won awards twice. They are Amsterdam’s most sustainable bar and won the Priceless Cocktail Award with their Belvedere cocktail.
