Delicious! How to make your own Snickers—and they’re much healthier

Gezondere Snickers

Is Snickers your favorite in the Celebration mix? Good news: you can make them yourself—and an even healthier version at that. That means you can keep snacking on them forever. If that’s not a celebration!

You’re not you when you’re hungry: Snickers hits the nail on the head. Our bodies may not be very happy if we eat nothing but Snickers all day long, but we now have a solution for that.

How to make healthier Snickers

You make these Snickers with dates, 100% peanut butter and melted chocolate. Okay, it’s not quite as thick as the Snickers you’re used to. Instead, you get a thin slab that you break into pieces yourself. But trust us: the flavors really come close to a Snickers. Here’s how to make it:

  1. Place a sheet of baking paper on your counter.
  2. Cut open the dates (twelve in total), remove the pits and place them on the baking paper, cut side up. Arrange the dates in a rectangle on the baking paper, close together.
  3. Place another sheet of baking paper over the dates. Take a rolling pin and roll over the dates until they are completely flattened.
  4. Spread the peanut butter over the dates.
  5. Melt the chocolate au bain-marie over the peanut-butter dates. If you like, sprinkle some salt over the chocolate layer.
  6. Let your creation harden completely in the freezer. Take it out and cut or break it into pieces, as small or large as you like.

Snickers all day

Completely addicted to Snickers? We get it—we are too. That’s why we’re often on the lookout for recipes that incorporate our favorite chocolate bar, or that resemble the bar in flavor. The Snickers MonChou cake, for example, still regularly makes an appearance at parties. And what about a pineapple filled with Snickers? Straight from the barbecue and, at the same time, a ticket directly to a tropical island, if you ask us. Finally, we don’t want to keep this smoothie bowl with crunchy chocolate from you either. Almost as if you’re eating a box of Celebration mix for breakfast—and no one would turn that down, of course.
