One of our country’s most beloved snacks on a pizza; it sounds crazy, but the combination is now truly a reality. Supermarket Lidl previously came up with this insane crossover which tasted surprisingly better than you might expect. Now Domino’s is launching a pizza topped with slices of frikandel—in other words: the Frikan’Dutchman.

Best of both worlds

Eke Bosman, better known as Instagram phenomenon @snackspert, ate his first frikandel as a baby and is the ultimate expert on snacks. Every other week, he shares his best and worst snack reviews on FavorFlav, where delight and utter misery regularly alternate. A few weeks ago, Snackspert called on Domino’s via social media, asking whether they would make a pizza with frikandel speciaal. Together with his thousands of followers, he managed to make it happen—Domino’s listened. And so the pizza with the best of both worlds is now a reality.

Wildly enthusiastic

The Frikan’Dutchman pizza consists of fresh dough topped with tomato sauce, Domino’s signature spice blend, mozzarella, pieces of frikandel, onions, and, of course, curry sauce and mayonnaise. Together with his colleagues at Domino’s Pizza Hilversum, Eke made the very first Frikan’Dutchman in the Netherlands yesterday. “The bar for this pizza was incredibly high because of all the expectations I had, but the result is great. It took me a while to get the hang of making pizzas, but that also gave me plenty of opportunity to taste everything properly,” says a wildly enthusiastic Snackspert.

The frikandel speciaal pizza is now temporarily available at 325 Domino’s locations throughout the country for less than six euros. For now, the pizza will remain on the menu for a while, so you have plenty of time to try this showstopper.
