FEBO has launched a new snack with Donnie: ’t Fenomeentje

Fenomeentje snack FEBO

In secondary school, I ate a bamischijf almost every break (and a bag of Croky Bolognese chips – the fact that I’m still alive is nothing short of a miracle). These days, my eating habits are a little more varied, but FEBO’s new snack, ’t Fenomeentje, definitely needs to be part of them.

Welcome, new family member: ’t Fenomeentje

This new snack is made with nasi. ’t Fenomeentje is a vegetarian, crispy and mildly spicy nasi snack; how delicious does that sound? The proud father of this new snack is none other than cook and snack connoisseur Donnie, better known as De Fenomeen.

He approached FEBO with the wish to develop his own snack. “With both our roots in Amsterdam and our shared love of snacks, this was naturally a no-brainer for us. We invited Donnie into our kitchen, and after several cooking and tasting sessions, we arrived at the ultimate end result,” says Dennis de Borst (third-generation owner of FEBO).

Mind on 0, fryer on 180

Donnie has previously let us enjoy his cooking skills (tip: make his bamischijf; it’s the bomb), with the fryer going at full blast. “I like fattier things better than healthy things. In the past, I was also, how do I put this politely, a rather sturdy boy,” says Donnie.

It makes perfect sense, then, that ’t Fenomeentje (you now also understand where that name comes from) came rolling out of the fryer. “It had always been a dream to launch my own snack. That this dream has now come true together with FEBO is really next-level. I hope many people will happily pull ’t Fenomeentje from the wall, because it was made with love.”
