Fresh pizza from a vending machine: it’s possible in The Hague

Pizza prepared, baked and ready to pull from the wall right in front of you: the Netherlands’ first pizza vending machine was already a resounding success, but with the arrival of this latest machine, the pizzas are now even tastier and ready even faster.

A vending machine from which you can get a fresh pizza 24 hours a day—that’s everything you could want, right? You could already do that in the centre of Rome. And although not every Italian jumped for joy at the arrival of machine-made pizza, the lightning-fast concept is nevertheless incredibly popular.
Fast pizza
There is already one in the Netherlands too, on the premises of a garage company in Hoek van Holland, but this new version is joining it. Instead of merely baking the pizzas, this vending machine from Rotterdam entrepreneur Kevin de Krieger makes the pizzas entirely from scratch. Including the dough. Kneaded and all, and made with special flour and water.
After the machine has made the base and spread it with tomato sauce, you can choose your favourite toppings (pineapple, anyone?). The pizza is then baked until deliciously crisp at 400 degrees, and all of that takes just 4 minutes. Brilliant!

Here’s where to find it
Will it be a hit? We think so. And Kevin does too. He plans to place the machines all over the country so that soon everyone can pull a fresh pizza from the wall in the middle of the night. Kevin’s first pizza vending machine is at Total Jongeneel on Ypenburgse Stationsweg in The Hague.
