Are you so addicted to the frikandel speciaal that you’d prefer to drink it? Good news: you can. Soon, you’ll be able to enjoy the Frikandel Speciaal shot. Yes, really. You’ll actually be able to consume your favorite snack bar snack in liquid form.
An alcohol-free frikandel party
The Frikandel Speciaal shot was conceived by distillery Onrust Stokers and online candy shop Candy Festival. Their collaboration is an ode to the popular Dutch snack. Good to know: the shot is 100% alcohol-free. That means everyone can drink it. And everyone can keep drinking it without a hangover afterward.

Anyone who wants to try the Frikandel Speciaal shot will have to be patient a little longer. From April 6, it will be available through the Candy Festival webshop. For €4.99, you get a 100-milliliter shot. Would you down it in one go or mix it? I’m so curious what this combination of frikandel, curry and onions—which is what it tastes like—would go with. Cola? Orange soda? Fristi? Or should we add alcohol after all?
A life full of frikandel speciaal
This isn’t the first time the frikandel speciaal has taken center stage in a new product, by the way. Producers know that we Dutch people love this snack, so they experiment away. Jumbo already came out with the Frikandel Speciaal salad, and Domino’s once put the indulgent snack on a pizza. And what about the frikandel speciaal toasted sandwich? If we want, we can build our entire culinary existence around the frikandel speciaal. Do we want that? We’re not ruling it out.
