Le Frique makes the tastiest frikandellen we’ve ever tasted

Are you, like me, a huge fan of the golden-brown sausage of joy? Then you really need to know about Le Frique’s frikandellen. There are even several flavours to choose from.

A culinary sausage
Le Frique isn’t a sausage you drunkenly pull out of a vending machine; no, what we’re dealing with here is a genuinely culinary character. And we have former banker Frank Tjepkema and former IT consultant Pieter Stevense to thank for that. They thought the good old snack-bar frikandel deserved a culinary upgrade. 2019 was therefore the year Le Frique was born.
Four flavours
By now, four different Le Frique flavours are available;

Le Frique Veganique
Good news for vegans: Le Frique recently launched a 100% plant-based frikandel: Le Frique Veganique, which is also produced sustainably. Le Frique Veganique contains no soy or palm oil and consists largely of dried jackfruit, produced in East Africa. Local female entrepreneurs are involved in the process, creating additional employment opportunities. ‘Because the jackfruit is dried first, up to eight times as much of the fruit can be transported per container. This means a lower CO2 footprint,’ says an enthusiastic Frank.
Besides being completely plant-based, Le Frique Veganique is also gluten-free.

On your drinks platter
You can find Le Frique at, among others, vrieswinkel and Zegro Rotterdam. And very soon at Sligro. And of course, ask for it in restaurants and bars, because a drinks platter with these cheeky sausages is truly irresistible. #nospon, just love.
