Snackmasters: eight chefs try to recreate snacks perfectly
You can be as creative as you like with caviar, veal cheeks and kumquat, but can you make a FEBO croquette? Eight Dutch chefs will face that challenge in the new television programme Snackmasters, on television from the end of April.
The programme is already broadcast in Great Britain and Belgium; the British version can be seen in the Netherlands on RTL Z. You watch professional chefs toil and sweat for days as they try to recreate, for example, the perfect Buggle, or lollipops, or stroopwafels. Seven episodes, and the programme takes the form of a competition, with the main prize going to the chef who can best recreate our guilty pleasures.
Conveyor belt
The programme is presented by Miljuschka Witzenhausen, who visits the factory where the penny wafers and cocktail nuts roll off the conveyor belt. Martijn Krabbé follows the chefs’ experiments in their own kitchens. The first broadcast is on Tuesday 27 April, at 8:30 p.m. on RTL 4.
Who should be on the jury?
Naturally, those snacks need to be judged by a qualified jury, but it has not yet been announced. Programme makers, may we give you a helping hand?
