Snackspert: ‘Applause for the new Crosta & Mollica pizza’
It costs almost six euros, this new Crosta & Mollica pizza. That’s one euro cheaper than some of the brand’s other varieties and, honestly, that’s quite pricey for a frozen pizza. But when it comes to frozen pizza, we’d rather pay a little more if it’s also significantly tastier than the cheaper varieties. And according to Snackspert, the man who effortlessly guides us through the snack landscape, the new Crosta & Mollica pizza is absolutely worth your six euros.
Thanks to Snackspert, who previously sang the praises of Crosta & Mollica’s pizzas, I’ve also been a fan of this brand for years. It all started with the Stromboli pizza with spicy salami, which earned 5 stars from Snackspert. Ever since, it has also been the king of frozen pizzas in my opinion.

And now there’s a new Crosta & Mollica pizza available: the Fiorentina. As with every good pizza, the story starts with the dough. In this case: sourdough, made with a ‘mother dough’ starter, slowly risen for 24 hours and baked at 400 degrees Celsius on Etna lava stone. On top is a creamy ‘bianco’ sauce—so no classic tomato sauce—with Fior di Latte mozzarella, grilled Italian mushrooms and fresh spinach, lightly sautéed with onion, garlic and chili. Doesn’t that sound heavenly?

Yesss, finally another new Crosta & Mollica pizza! Found at Appie, this Fiorentina has a base of cheese and creamy garlic, topped with mushrooms and spinach. And good heavens, this is delicious. Although I miss a touch of sweetness or acidity for balance, it’s really very good otherwise. The creaminess (from the cheese and garlic) combined with the firm yet soft texture of the mushrooms and the delicate flavor of the spinach—yes, it just works. Another lovely new pizza from this brand, truly worthy of applause. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️½

Not every store sells the same varieties, but with a bit of luck you’ll find the new Fiorentina in the freezer aisle at a store near you. The brand’s other pizzas are also highly recommended.
