Snackspert tests Jumbo’s Hamburger Baguette: ‘Just as failed as Ajax’s current season’

It costs 3.79 euros, this Hamburger Baguette at Jumbo. And for those interested: buy three and you’ll currently pay for just two. Is this a good idea? Instagram phenomenon Snackspert, dipped in mayonnaise as Eke Bosman, shares his findings.

As hamburger purists, we want a hamburger on a brioche bun. Or at least a soft bun. Hard hamburger buns don’t taste good at all, do they? And how do you eat a hamburger without making a mess? But a baguette with hot meat can of course be very tasty. So, into the basket it goes, that baguette.

Hamburger Baguette: sparse appearance

The first impressions. Almost four euros for a hamburger baguette—that’s not cheap. The white bun itself looks cheap, and the filling is sparse. Meat, a little cheese, a little barbecue sauce, no garnish, nothing. But what if the meat is brilliantly seasoned and the cheese is delicious? And what if, after a stint in the oven, it turns into a divine combination?

There is only one way to find out… Snackspert turned on his oven and put it to the test. After 25 minutes in the oven, the cheddar still hadn’t melted, and it turned out to be mainly a very salty bite. And otherwise? The review isn’t great…

Sometimes you can be very brief in reviews of certain products. Like this Jumbo hamburger baguette. Enough to make you grumpy: bad meat, bad bun, disgusting sauce, disgusting cheddar. Just as failed as Ajax’s current season. ⭐️
