Snackspert: nNea in Amsterdam is the best pizzeria in the Netherlands

nNea pizza

Instagram phenomenon @snackspert, known in mayonnaise as Eke Bosman, tells you where to get the best snacks, from shoarma rolls to lihanboutjes. Pizza may well be our favorite snack—and the pizzas at nNea in Amsterdam are truly next level. Definitely the best pizzeria in the capital, and perhaps even in the entire country.

nNea: Neapolitan pizzas in Amsterdam

Is this the best pizza in the Netherlands? I finally managed to eat at nNea in Amsterdam, the Neapolitan pizzeria that appears on many people’s lists and is very well known among various professionals in and outside Italy. That gives me hope. I can tell you right away: it definitely gets 5 stars, because there are few places outside Italy where I have eaten pizza this delicious (more on that later). Take this Oro di Bufala, for example, with yellow tomato sauce (my God, as sweet as an average Disney movie), topped with buffalo mozzarella and provolone that gives you a flashback to your last holiday in Italy at 28 degrees after every bite. Wow, wow, wow! I simply can’t describe perfectly why this is so good either, because I’m speechless. The dough, the sauce, everything is so good.
And then there’s the Ripieno dei pastori, a calzone pizza with smoked sour tomatoes, ricotta, fior di latte mozzarella and guanciale, a piece of ham from the pig’s cheek. It is also seasoned so elegantly, partly thanks to the oregano, Parmesan and those slightly sweet-and-sour tomatoes. It really is on another level—you notice it with every bite. And that meat is so tender, but also so flavorful. Fatty. A party in your mouth. Is this the best in the Netherlands, then? One of the best, certainly, because there’s also one in Haarlem that I consider the best: Piccolo Forno Vinz. Also so good, but nNea deserves the spotlight today. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
