In America, fast-food restaurants put their offers on large signs that you can read as you drive past. Sometimes things go slightly wrong: the intern has stuck the letters onto the sign, pranksters have altered the text a little during the night after going out, or someone simply wasn’t paying close enough attention.

Luckily, there are always plenty of observant people who photograph the funny signs and share them with one another. Wait a minute, could that actually be the point of all this nonsense? That, just like with the misspelled names on Starbucks cups, we all have a laugh about it and still give the burger chain attention? A kind of advertising, but very subtle.
