You can now buy cream puffs with Crema Catalana at Lidl

It’s Spanish and Portuguese specialties week at Lidl again. That means the shelves are packed with Spanish cheeses, ham and cheese croquettes, calamari, mini churros and Pastéis de Nata. This time, the supermarket has also added some new products to the range, including these cream puffs.

We love the light, airy balls of dough filled with whipped cream, whether they’re covered in chocolate or not. Just like those tompouce cream puffs from HEMA. Prefer something savory? Then the cheese puffs from the Airfryer make a delicious snack.
Cream puffs with Crema Catalana from Lidl
The new buñuelos are filled with whipped cream and Crema Catalana. Crema Catalana has a pudding-like texture and an orange flavor. In Spain, buñuelos are normally deep-fried—in fact, buñuelo means “deep-fried dough fritter”—but these look more like Dutch cream puffs. Light and airy and generously filled: yummie!

Besides orange, the buñuelos are also available with lemon flavor. You pay €3.99 for four large puffs. And you know the drill: hurry, because Spanish and Portuguese week will be over again before you know it!
