You’ll want to get to Lidl as soon as possible for this döner sandwich

Do you love döner kebab and pizza calzone? Then this sandwich is the perfect reason to speed to your nearest Lidl with squealing tires. Because with the döner calzone sandwich, you get the best of both worlds in one snack.

Honestly: we still have those moments when, in the middle of the night, we stumble into the local döner joint completely wasted and wolf down a kebab, döner, gyros or shawarma sandwich. We eat pizza calzone a little less often at that hour. But hey, I’m certainly not saying no to a folded-over pizza with döner and extra melted cheese!
Döner on pizza happens more often
Leeman Döner is one of the best döner joints in Amsterdam. We’ve known for a while, thanks to the Amsterdam cops (the police have plenty of great snack spots), that this is where you can eat an amazing Turkish pizza with mixed meat. Half chicken, half veal rolled up in a Turkish pizza. Addictively delicious.
Disgustingly delicious it is!
Anyway, Lidl. They’re now selling döner calzone sandwiches. A truly disgustingly delicious item, if you ask me. The sandwich is made from pizza-like dough and filled with cheese, tomatoes and döner kebab meat. Add some garlic sauce and the party is complete. This new snack is on the shelves especially for the ‘1001 Flavours’ week. From Thursday 29 June, you can buy the sandwiches for just under one euro—an absolute bargain!
