Come on over: you’ll want to make these Flügel poffertjes today

We’re as happy as a child when there’s a plate of poffertjes in front of us. Feel like giving these small, thick pancakes a less innocent makeover? Then turn them into Flügel poffertjes. Forget the fries table—from now on, Flügel poffertjes are the perfect base for your night out!

We already knew that Flügel is much more than just that cheerful little bottle of alcohol with the red cap you can put on your nose. By now, we could publish a book featuring all the Flügel recipes we’ve shared with you. I’m talking about Flügel cupcakes (also available in an Airfryer version), Flügel tiramisu and Flügel marshmallow shots. And what about Flügel bitterballen and oliebollen? Today, we’re adding to the list of classic Dutch Flügel treats. Tip: serve them on a poffertjes board!

How to make Flügel poffertjes
- Heat up your poffertjes maker.
- Prepare the poffertjes batter. Some mixes only require water, while others require milk and eggs. For one packet of Koopmans Poffertjesmix, you’ll also need 0.8 litres of milk, 2 eggs and 3 tablespoons of oil.
- Mix 3 bottles of Flügel into the batter.
- Grease the poffertjes pan with oil or butter.
- Fill the poffertjes pan with the batter. Use a spoon!
- Turn the poffertjes over halfway through, until they’re golden brown on both sides.
- Finish the poffertjes with icing sugar. Tip: mix a bottle of Flügel with icing sugar and you’ll have Flügel icing!
