Delicious! Jumbo is now selling custard with pear ice lolly flavor

Custard and pear ice lollies combined in one carton: this could go either way. Is it a winning disgustingly delicious item, or is it too gross for words? Time for a new edition of the custard special test.

As soon as a new custard special appears on Jumbo’s shelves, I’m the first to cycle there with screeching tires. Because that pancake custard—with its typically ready-made, reheated-pancake flavor—can easily account for a bowl or two after dinner. Would the pear extravaganza special be just as tasty?
Custard with pear ice lolly flavor
The idea of combining custard with pear ice lollies doesn’t seem all that crazy to me. After all, you can also get custard with raspberry, banana, mango and strawberry fruit flavors. Oh yes, and let’s not forget Lidl’s Piña Colada custard with coconut flavor and pineapple pieces. So why not custard inspired by the all-time favorite ice lolly?

Disgustingly delicious?
The pear extravaganza custard special is a fresh, slightly sweet custard with the unmistakable, familiar flavor of pear ice lollies. It may not have the wow factor, but be sure to pick up a carton (for €1.49) the next time you find yourself at Jumbo—and grab Dries Roelvink’s meatballs and the frikandel-flavored slices for putting on your sandwich while you’re there.
