Nothing is too crazy as an ice cream flavor in this pop-up, as long as it’s an iconic food brand

Ketchup ice cream, we weren’t exactly fans of that already, were we? But perhaps it paved the way for this fourteenfold superlative, which also makes room for baked beans in tomato sauce ice cream and Worcestershire sauce ice cream. I just gagged a little while writing that last bit, but perhaps there’s something for me in a safer corner of the range…

And what range would that be? That of The Ice Cream Project, a pop-up store in the posh London neighborhood of Belgravia, where you can drop by until August 28 for some truly outrageous flavors. So if you happen to be on a city trip to London these days, seize your chance?
A scoop of HP Sauce, please
Even if the thought of, say, HP Sauce ice cream or salad dressing ice cream makes your dinner come back up, there’s a good chance there’s still an ice cream flavor to your liking. There are also some bolder flavors such as Kellogg’s Frosties ice cream and Coco Pops, although you’ll have to look past the Kikkoman soy sauce ice cream and Heinz mayo ice cream first. I wonder whether the latter will provoke as much resistance as the Heinz Mayo Mousse did recently…
Would you like a bag with that?
The unusual flavors were created as a project by accessories designer Anya Hindmarch, who undoubtedly finds plenty of takers for her luxury products in a neighborhood like Belgravia. Whether the fashion set eats a lot of ice cream remains to be seen (although Hindmarch’s website does warn of long lines), but in any case, the pop-up is intended as a “celebration of [her] favorite cult food brands.” And oh yes, for a mere £900, you can immediately buy a giant Heinz Ketchup sequin bag too, while you’re at it.
Who dares?
If you happen to have an irresistible craving for such an ice cream (okay, honestly, I’d definitely stop by if I were in the area) and want to be a guinea pig for a trio of ketchup-mayo-soy sauce ice cream, please let us know how it went down!
