Snackspert: the burgers at Bar Café Louis Davids are amazing

Because those burgers (pricey, admittedly) are amazing.
A good burger is worth its weight in gold, we can safely say that. And who knows better than our Snackspert where to get the best hamburgers in the Netherlands? Exactly. So when he recommends a new burger joint, you know what to do: start up the moped and go!
The burgers at Bar Café Louis Davids
Remember that name: Bar Café Louis Davids. An Amsterdam spot with a location in the Rijnbuurt and one nearby on the Schinkel, but it’s more than a bar and café. In an average café-restaurant, at best you can order a satay skewer or an overly thick burger, and they’re usually so bone-dry that even after 13 beers your palate feels as dry as someone who hasn’t French-kissed anyone in 87 weeks. But don’t despair: at Bar Café Louis Davids on the Schinkel, they make burgers that you can happily put in your mouth. And decorate and caress your mouth the way the best lover does. I went for a spicy burger, with jalapeño that actually had some bite, as well as excellently cooked bacon and a fabulously cooked burger that was wonderfully tender and seasoned—yum. The bun is toasted too, which is a major plus, and they do that very well there. I genuinely enjoyed every bite. And no, it isn’t particularly special in terms of ingredients, but when the preparation and ingredients are perfect, you don’t need anything else. The only downside is the price, which I find very high, but then again, you do get salad and fries with it. Not every place does that anymore, after all. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ½
