The Dubai oliebol is this year’s hit: here’s where to buy one

Oliebol season has started again! And adventurous oliebol eaters know where to go. After the limoncello bol, Pornstar bol, the Expresso bol and ‘t Advocaatje, Wendy Knubben of the pastry stall on Nieuwe Ommoordseweg in Rotterdam has come up with another oliebol hit. This time, it’s the Dubai oliebol. What can you expect, and how much does it cost?

Dubai bar
The Dubai oliebol is inspired by this year’s most popular chocolate bar: the Dubai bar. The bar is so popular that it even sparked a backlash; a group of friends from Rotterdam created the ‘Get lost with your Dubai bar!‘ Wendy doesn’t care about her fellow city dwellers’ jokes. She flawlessly turns every trend into an oliebol that customers look forward to eagerly every year. So now it’s a Dubai oliebol.

Buying a Dubai oliebol
What can you expect? A large oliebol covered in chocolate with—just like in the famous bar—a filling of pistachio paste and kadayif (thin, crispy pastry strands). The pistachio paste is made entirely in-house at the oliebol stall, using 100% pure pistachios. They’re waiting for you at the counter, at €4.50 each. You’ll find Wendy’s pastry stall at Nieuwe Ommoordseweg 4 in Rotterdam.
