This Is the Most Searched-for Recipe of 2018

We search the worldwide web for all sorts of things and, whether you like it or not, the big internet companies of course carefully record that. The same goes for the most searched-for recipes of 2018.

Delightfully old-fashioned

No trendy bowls or left-leaning quinoa burgers, but the recipe for the good old hachee stew was searched for most on Startpagina.nl. Pumpkin soup (here you go: six different versions) and ‘recipes with courgette’ (you name it; as a starter? main course? dessert?) came in second and third. Proof that our lovely colleague Emma is not in the majority with her hatred of courgette.

Worldwide

Back to that ‘golden oldies’ trend: classics also performed best worldwide. At number one in the top ten most searched-for recipes on Google is pecan pie. The American classic was followed by meatloaf, beef stroganoff, pork chops and lasagne (this chef even always buys that ready-made!).
