Wendy’s bites back on Twitter

Hamburger chain Wendy’s is hugely popular in America. The chain’s square hamburgers, its logo featuring the cheerful girl with red pigtails, and the way the brand bites back on social media all stand out. On Twitter, Wendy’s doesn’t let anyone make fun of it.

It’s actually strange that Wendy’s isn’t established in the Netherlands, while its two major competitors, Burger King and McDonald’s, are hugely successful here. This apparently has something to do with Raymond Warrens, a snack bar owner in Goes. In 1988, he opened a snack bar and named it after his youngest daughter, Wendy. So when Wendy’s wanted to open a hamburger restaurant in our country under that name, it couldn’t, because Raymond had already claimed it for the entire Benelux.
- Haalbare doelen, Wendy.
- Zo, dat liegt er niet om.
- Tikfoutje?
- Oei…
