You can now buy pizza donuts at Lidl
Crazy about snacks in all shapes and sizes? Then a visit to Lidl supermarket will take you straight to snack-heaven. New snacks appear every week, each one even more experimental than the last. This week, the shelves are packed with American products and snacks, and you know what that means: you might just come across a pizza donut. Should you buy it?
Frikandel pizzas, Oreo cookies & cream ice cream cakes, Gyros chips, Piña Colada custard; you name it and Lidl has it. By now, I’m wondering which genius is responsible for buying all these products, because a snack we’ve never seen before, let alone tasted, every week is simply brilliant! So this week’s item on the menu: the pizza donut.
Savoury donut
As the name suggests, the pizza donut is a combination of a donut and a pizza. And no, it isn’t a sweet donut like you’re used to, but a savoury one. The pizza basically has the shape of a donut but is made from dough and covered with toppings. There are two different varieties: salami and bacon. The salami comes with tomato sauce, some cheese, pieces of bell pepper and, of course, salami, while the bacon one has a white sauce, cheese, onion and bacon.
And… Is it tasty?
Absolutely! The dough is good, and the same goes for the topping. We wolfed down both one after the other during lunch. And a donut like this is so easy to eat because of its shape! You can find the donut pizzas in the freezer section at Lidl until the end of next week. You pay just €1.50 for a box of two pizzas, so go ahead and fill that cart!
