Eating fish every week: delicious! And healthy too. So you’d better have plenty of options to make, right? These are our 25 favorite fish recipes. Get inspired!

Emma de Thouars’ spaghetti vongole
Our former colleague Emma de Thouars is one of our favorite cookbook authors. Her book Noodles contains an irresistibly delicious recipe for spaghetti vongole. In Emma’s eyes, everything about vongole is perfect: from the quick preparation to the small number of ingredients it contains. Not to mention the flavor. We couldn’t agree more.
Karsu’s fish balls
Karsu was the big winner of FavorFlav’s Food Top 100 this year. So it makes sense that we quickly turn to her cookbooks too. The book Karsu’s Kitchen is a firm favorite, especially Karsu’s fish balls. Delicious in a sandwich, with yogurt and sumac sauce. Fun to make when you want something a little less standard than an ordinary sandwich.

Noodles with seafood
Another winner from Emma de Thouars’ book Noodles: noodles with seafood. These noodles have a special twist because they’re wonderfully crispy. Combined with scallops and shrimp, you have a dish that’s always a hit.
Seafood boil
Seafood boil is hugely popular in America, especially in the state of Louisiana. Essentially, it’s a large platter of crab legs, prawns and lobster tails, all generously seasoned. FavorFlav’s Wieke loves it. With a seafood boil, you can throw all your table manners out the window. Slurping, cracking, sucking, eating with your hands: it’s your seafood party.
The most delicious ceviche
Ceviche originally comes from Peru. Luckily, you don’t have to book the first available ticket to Lima to eat the very best ceviche. Lelani Lewis’s ceviche recipe, from her book Code Noir, comes remarkably close. Briny, lightly tart and fruity: this ceviche has it all.
Easy congee with white fish fillet
Rosheen Kaul and Joanna Hu’s congee with fish, found in their book Chinese-ish, is anything but authentic. It’s a fusion of two cuisines: Australian and Chinese. Their recipe is easy and quick to make. You don’t need many ingredients, yet it’s bursting with flavor.

Creamy garlic shrimp with spaghetti
Pasta with fish is simply a golden combination, right? That’s why we couldn’t possibly leave these garlic shrimp with spaghetti off our list of favorites. The recipe’s ingredient list contains just five items, so you absolutely don’t have to clear out half the supermarket. That’s what we like.
Jamie Oliver’s Asian fish cakes
Fish cakes are a fantastic snack. Fun to make and incredibly delicious. Our favorite recipe comes from Jamie Oliver. His Asian fish cakes contain just five ingredients (yes, as you know, we love that) and taste fantastic. A little spicy thanks to the ginger and chili jam, which gives the cakes exactly the touch they need.
Fried cod in sweet-and-sour sauce
This fried cod, dunked in a flavorful sweet-and-sour sauce, was created by Maureen Tan. This dish (from the book Java) is delicious and a feast for the eyes, thanks both to the color of the sauce and the paper-thin sliced vegetables.
Spicy shrimp with chorizo from the Airfryer
We can never have enough Airfryer recipes. These Airfryer shrimp with chorizo are a fantastic addition to the drinks table. Thanks to Mr. Airfryer, you hardly have to do anything yourself, while the flavors are truly to die for. Make them!
Sticky salmon with honey and garlic
Salmon gets a major boost from a delicious sauce, especially when it’s a sticky one. This sticky salmon comes with a honey-and-garlic sauce. It gives the fish a delicious Asian twist. We like to eat it with rice and stir-fried broccoli.

Homemade fish sticks
Homemade is almost always better, and that applies to fish sticks too. Fish sticks deserve a proper ode anyway. They’re crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and not overly fishy in flavor. They also have a very high nostalgia factor, especially with homemade rémoulade sauce (which you’ll find in the recipe too!).
The ultimate shrimp cocktail
Is there a bigger classic on the Christmas table than shrimp cocktail? I don’t think so. It looks festive and simply tastes good. Even if you’re a fish hater, because the shrimp are practically swimming in cocktail sauce. This recipe for shrimp cocktail makes us especially happy, because it’s so easy that you might actually have a stress-free Christmas this year.
Mediterranean fish soup with aioli
A well-filled fish soup is so delicious. If it’s on the menu at a restaurant, I almost always order it. This fish soup with aioli by Janneke Vreugdenhil is extra delicious because it contains very few carbohydrates. So you can serve yourself quite a few bowls.
Poké avocado with tuna
This is exactly the kind of fish dish that perfectly embodies the motto less is more. A beautiful piece of tuna, a fresh, ripe avocado and a delicious dressing: that’s all you need to shine. It’s a dish from the book YOKO by Christel van Bree and Yoko Inagaki, which is a recommendation to have at home anyway.

Mussels with spicy sausage by Sergio Herman
Sergio Herman admits that he has a love-hate relationship with mussels. This recipe for mussels with spicy sausage was clearly made from the love side of that relationship. You make it with ‘nduja, the spicy spreadable sausage that has won many hearts in recent years. Tip: serve with fresh bread. You’ll regret throwing away the sauce (which you should NEVER do anyway).
Crispy salmon tacos by Jamie Oliver
Easy to make yet surprisingly flavorful. That’s what these crispy salmon tacos by Jamie Oliver are. The mango and avocado give the salmon a deliciously sweet note, while the lime adds acidity. A great recipe when you want to conjure something tasty onto the table quickly.
Barbecued fish
Everything from the barbecue is festive, but a barbecued fish takes it up another notch. Unwrapping the aluminum foil already feels like opening a gift. And the aromas that then waft into your nose… Delicious.
Quick fish stew
When you think of stewing, you may picture a pan simmering on the stove for hours. This fish stew is ready super quickly. Perfect! The tomato sauce with white wine and olives gives the stew a Mediterranean touch. Delicious for both a balmy summer evening and a cozy winter dinner.
Irresistible salmon/tuna tartare
Janneke Vreugdenhil’s The Low-Carb Bible is full of recipes that contain—yes, you guessed it—few carbohydrates. Her fish tartare is one of the book’s standouts. Make it with salmon or tuna, depending on your preference. This recipe is guaranteed to work well as a starter.

Fish cakes from Sjefietshe
Our favorite fish restaurant in Amsterdam is undoubtedly Sjefietsche. Thank God they made a cookbook, because now we can make their dishes at home too. We’ve already served these slightly spicy fish cakes at the table many times.
Paella with assorted seafood
When talking about fish dishes, paella naturally can’t be left off the list. This paella packed with seafood (that means lobster, mussels, langoustines and shrimp) transports us to a warm summer evening somewhere on a Spanish terrace. We’d happily have that feeling every day.
Ratatouille with smoked eel
Ratatouille is a French dish, but this recipe by Mounir Toub gives it a Dutch twist. His ratatouille with smoked eel appears in his book Fast Arabic. Once you’ve eaten it, you’ll genuinely wonder why you don’t use smoked eel in your dishes more often.
The best oven-baked salmon
Anyone who wants to put something spectacular on the table without doing too much work has to try this oven-baked salmon. It’s practically impossible to mess up. Delicious with some chopped macadamias on top!

Fried fish sandwich with rémoulade sauce
A soft white roll is a guilty pleasure for many people. This fried fish sandwich could easily become your new guilty pleasure. You can almost feel that rémoulade sauce dripping from the sandwich onto your fingers… Yep, the croquette sandwich is a thing of the past. This is the new favorite.
