For this handy hack, you only need a few empty wine bottles! (And you probably have those lying around)
You’ve probably used an empty wine bottle as a candleholder before, right? Plenty of homes are full of them, and plenty of restaurants are too. You may also have spotted a chandelier made of wine bottles and an empty wine bottle used as a vase, or as an M&M’s dispenser (haha). But this trick will amaze you because it’s so handy and unexpected!
Okay, this trick only comes in handy if you own leather boots. And if you’re too lazy to go looking for boot shapers. Excuse me, boot shapers? Yes, those are the things you may have seen at your grandmother’s house in the past (at least, I did) that kept leather boots standing upright – a menacing-looking construction involving wood or plastic and metal bow springs. No, these things are much better, and you probably already have them at home!

Because everything suggests that we’re still simply drinking one wine bottle after another at home, since the hospitality industry is still shut down and, apart from (super-fun) hotel dinner/overnight stay combos, we’re mainly sitting at home drinking wine. So you’ll quickly collect the two empty bottles you need for this hack, for example by pouring one delicious Sangiovese and one crowd-pleasing Chardonnay, after which you’ll first have completed an entire wine bottle workout with them…
Wash and dry two empty wine bottles very carefully and place them upright in the shafts of a pair of leather boots. This prevents them from collapsing and developing creases and wear marks, or at least makes that less likely than when your boots are simply shoved into the closet a little floppy. So before you start your next walk of shame to the bottle bank, it’s a good idea to see what else you can do with those empty bottles!
