Frites Atelier by Sergio Herman launches Creamy Carbonara & Thai Chicken fries

Sergio Herman’s Frites Atelier launches new specials twice a year and, as far as we’re concerned, they always hit the mark. The loaded fries are incomparable. No wonder when you let a Michelin-starred chef loose on special flavour combinations. This time, Sergio drew inspiration from the rich and varied flavours of Thailand and Italy. The latest specials are therefore called ‘Creamy Carbonara’ and ‘Thai Chicken’.

Loaded fries, chips (or fries) with a combination of surprising ingredients, were the big trend of 2021. And fries with toppings are still as popular as ever. Especially when they are created by a top chef.
Creamy Carbonara
The ‘Creamy Carbonara’ is a loaded, crispy, golden-yellow premium fry topped with creamy cheese, crispy bacon bits and fresh rocket. We have known for longer than cheese sauce on fries is insanely delicious, but Sergio Herman has the rare gift of turning it into a sophisticated snack. Italian classics are often butchered (hello oven baked spaghetti and all these so-called pasta recipes that drive Italians completely up the wall), but I wouldn’t be surprised if Italians spontaneously started a conga line over this. (And if you want to make a real carbonara, this recipe will help you make real spaghetti carbonara just like in Italy).

Thai Chicken
Do you also like a bit of spice in your life? The Thai Chicken loaded fries offer a surprising mix of spicy red chillies, the sweet aroma of kaffir lime leaves and the tender texture of chicken. Close your eyes and, honestly, it’s as if you’re standing in Thailand.
So head to The Hague or one of the other Frites Atelier locations! And if you can’t get enough of Thai cuisine, here you’ll find the best Thai restaurants in Amsterdam.
