McDonald’s bizarre new ice cream flavor doesn’t appeal to everyone
You either love it or hate it: cilantro. McDonald’s new ice cream on the menu in China therefore won’t be to everyone’s taste. The menu features soft serve with cilantro leaves and a cilantro sauce. Huh, WHAT?!?
You can be the biggest health freak in the world, but you’ll always have room for a soft-serve ice cream. Especially at McDonald’s, those cups with caramel sauce and nuts, or with strawberry sauce, are always spooned empty in the blink of an eye—not to mention the McFlurry. Maybe the new ice cream flavor is a better fit for people who have hopped aboard the health train: in China, you can order a cilantro-flavored soft serve at McDonald’s.

Toilet soap
An ice cream with… cilantro? For some of Maccie’s customers, it will feel as though they’ve taken a sip of bubble bath. For one in six people, cilantro has a distinctly soapy taste. Apparently, this has something to do with a specific gene.
Pizza-flavored ice cream
We at Favorflav don’t bat an eyelid easily, not even when it comes to unusual ice cream flavors. What about the ice cream pizza rolls we came across, for example? Made by a Thai ice cream maker, they really do feature a slice of pizza disappearing into cream, topped with pepperoni and tomato sauce. And yet: cilantro-flavored ice cream is, to say the least, surprising. We’ll have to taste it to be able to say anything meaningful about it. Who’s coming to China?
