These Hot Dogs Are Worthy of Hollywood

Imagine you’re a pastry chef. And you have way too much time on your hands. What do you do? Erik Vernieuwe then opens a jar of hot dogs and lets his imagination run wild. For his Instagram @burpzine, he creates stunning replicas of famous movie scenes, album covers and celebrities – using that humble hot dog. Hats off!

You can safely say that the joke with those sausages has gotten completely out of hand. Erik works with Kris, a food photographer and food stylist. They go to the opera together, which really gets the creativity flowing between the two of them. They work together on the hot dog photos and other bizarre food photos. Their personal work is also being turned into a book, in a limited edition, complete with recipes and everything. And the hot dogs? They have a modest place on Instagram, as befits a hot dog.
